In a year long capstone project, the client; City of Edmonton, came to us seeking a solution for increasing problems surrounding public urination and lack of public washrooms in Edmonton. Our design is iconically Edmonton, equitable for all, and a durable street architecture design. Our research and designs will be included in a Provisional Plan for Public Washrooms presented to city council.
By researching and implementing the City of Edmonton Access Design Guide, we were able to design every aspect to be barrier-free and therefore promote inclusion through it's design. We also utilized rapid prototyping such as 3D printing throughout the physical design process.
