In a six-month internship at the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine, my role as Design Lead was to collaborate with a team of research scientists and biomechanical engineers, to address the loss of sensations in the mouth after jaw reconstruction. The wearable extra oral feedback device is unobtrusive to everyday living and is concealed under clothing, allowing maximum patient adherence. This system, which includes my design input, underwent patient trials.
